Composers

Just so you know, I did NOT copy and paste this information. I researched each of these composers, and wrote these brief paragraphs about them. I'm an honest person! :)

Mykola Dmytrovych Leontovych was born on December 13, 1877. He became a composer, choral conductor, priest, and a renown teacher. He specialized in a cappella choral music like church music and arrangements of folk music. Leontovych moved to Kiev where he worked at the Mykola Lysenko Institute of Music and Drama. He is known for composing “Shchedryk”, “Carol of the Bells”, and “Ring Christmas Bells”. In 1921, he was assassinated by a Soviet agent, and is known as a martyr in the Eastern Orthodox Ukrainian Church.
CARL J. NYGARD JR. lives in Pennsylvania, but his music has been broadcast in Europe, Africa, South America, North America, and Australia. He is a faithful member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, and he and his wife, Dorian, are the parents of two grown sons. His music has been sung by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Cleveland Symphony Chorus, and the 1,400 voice Ocean Grove.
Kirby Shaw has shared his musical expertise in 45 states, Canada, Australia, the Bahamas, Sweden, the Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, and Germany. He has degrees in Music Education, Choral Composition, and Choral conducting. Kirby founded and directed the COS Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and is also a member of Just 4 Kicks (a four-man a cappella Jazz ensemble). He has composed almost 3000 choral arrangements, and has sold over 20 million copies.
